The poster art for this 1957
showing Aliens carrying off a woman were somewhat exagerated
(which a lot of 50s B pictures tended to do when there was
little budget for expensive effects.)
I have rather fond memories of this old movie which I recall
seeing as a teenager and somehow the aliens seemed a lot more
exciting and believable than seeing them 40 years later. It's
the old thing about the teenagers fighting off the alien attack
while adults are none the wiser. The film is not shown very
much anymore but it is available on DVD.
It was one of Frank Gorshin's
early pictures before he became known as the Ridder in the
early TV Batman series with Adam West.
Check out clips from Invasion
of the Saucer Men Movie Trailer:
1950s science fiction saw
many weird and wonderful scenarios with encounters from outer
space and attacks upon earth from other worlds.
You also have the option of buying a framed
print here:
If you grab a copy of Invasion of
the Saucer Men, you will be treated to some of the 50s science
fiction and that feel that only comes from the 1950s films.
Invasion also has it's humor such as a segment where the aliens
must do battle with a bull or a steer.
Immortal dialog from Col. Armrouge of the
United State Air Force:
(Played by actor Sam Buffington)
"Our job is to prevent a possible nation-wide panic by
keeping the information from the public."
My rating for Invasion of the Saucer Men: 6/10 for the
movie
( 8/10 for the Poster Artwork.)
