Lowest Budget DVD Movies - But Big on Entertainment

You've heard of low budget films that are so bad, that they are actually entertaining. Here are a few brief schlock movie reviews of some of my favorites from Ed Wood and Roger Corman.

If you have never seen this film, you are in for a treat. Listen to Criswell's dramatic opening dialog..."

Greetings, my friend.

We're all interested in the future, for that is where you and I are going to spend the rest of our lives. And remember my friend, future events such as these will affect you in the future. You are interested in the unknown... the mysterious. The unexplainable. That is why you are here."

"And now, for the first time, we are bringing to you, the full story of what happened on that fateful day. We are bringing you all the evidence, based only on the secret testimony, of the miserable souls, who survived this terrifying ordeal. The incidents, the places. My friend, we cannot keep this a secret any longer. Let us punish the guilty. Let us reward the innocent. My friend, can your heart stand the shocking facts of grave robbers from outer space?"

In fact that was to be the original title "Grave Robbers from Outer Space"...but some how the local church that Ed Wood had talked into financing the film, felt that Grave Robbers from Outer Space was too wild.

So it was renamed "Plan 9 from Outer Space."

Bela Lugosi's final film although he was in poor health, he agreed to work in the picture for a couple of scenes before he passed away. The rest of the scenes invloving Bela's "ghoul character" utilized a double that looked nothing like Lugosi. So he constantly covered his face. Bela, reportedly wore one of the capes he used when portraying Dracula.

The film was named as 'Worst Film of All Time' in the book "The Golden Turkey Awards." This is not really true as there are far more unwatchable films than this.
